Forming an integral function of our Events team, the Events Sales Managers role is to drive events revenue, build brand awareness, as well as design and implement acquisition strategies to win corporate and conference event business for the Club. The role operates in accordance with clear KPIs pertaining to booking rates, event revenue, along with visitation and membership conversion with a vision to facilitating Bankstown Sports Club’s growth into a destination for corporate, community and private events. This role involves selling event spaces, coordinating event logistics, and ensuring exceptional client experiences from initial inquiry through to event execution. This role focuses 70% on business development and acquiring new business in the events industry, alongside a smaller emphasis on sales and client management. The ideal candidate will have proven success in generating leads, building relationships, and closing deals to secure new event business across various industries. This position does not have direct reports but will require effective collaboration with internal teams to deliver exceptional event experiences. Proven ability to generate new business and consistently meet or exceed sales targets. Industry Knowledge: In-depth understanding of the events industry, including trends, logistics, budgeting, vendor management, and the competitive landscape. Sales Expertise: Demonstrated ability in lead generation, negotiation, and closing sales. Experience in preparing and delivering persuasive sales proposals and presentations. Communication Skills: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. Ability to build rapport and establish trust with potential clients, stakeholders, and vendors. Relationship Management: Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to develop and maintain long-lasting relationships with clients, prospects, and internal teams. Excellent influencing, negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, based on event schedules and client needs.
