Project Engineer Weir Minerals Artarmon Onsite Purpose of Role: We are looking for a motivated Project Engineer to play a key supporting role in the planning and execution of critical projects that drive our operational strategy forward. In this role, you’ll work closely with the Project team to help deliver the technology, systems, standards, and infrastructure needed for operational excellence. You’ll assist in identifying and planning projects, coordinating resources, tracking costs, and ensuring timelines are met. You will also collaborate across departments to support the alignment of projects with broader business goals—contributing to strategic planning and ensuring smooth execution from start to finish. Key Responsibilities: Support project delivery across operations to achieve both short- and long-term business objectives, ensuring alignment with strategic goals. Assist in project governance, including annual budgeting, risk management, and accurate reporting on KPIs and performance. Coordinate cross-functional collaboration with departments such as finance, sales, manufacturing, and supply chain to ensure seamless project execution. Identify resource needs and support the formation of project teams, ensuring capabilities and costs are aligned with program requirements. Monitor project progress, supporting on-time, on-budget, and safe delivery while minimizing disruption to operations, safety, and quality. Manage escalations and drive improvements, resolving issues quickly and contributing to the development of performance metrics and continuous improvement initiatives. Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications: Formal qualifications in Engineering - Mechanical, civil or structural Qualification in project management (PMP preferred). Demonstrable project management, transformation and change management skills and experience. Demonstrable experience in undertaking engineering projects with strong preference to civil and structural. Strong communication skills and ability to engage effectively with stakeholders across a business. Any equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered for candidates that have the ability to perform the objectives above.
