The Engineering Tools Group is part of Lockheed Martin Australia's Engineering Strategy and Technology Function. The team supports Process Owners across the business by helping to evaluate, deploy, and maintain engineering tools that improve and integrate processes. They are also responsible for configuring and integrating both new and existing tools into tool suites that deliver effective solutions, while providing guidance and support on the use of the Function’s standard toolsets. Your responsibilities will include: We are seeking a motivated Software Engineer with a background in CI/CD, security automation, and DevOps practices to support the design, development, and integration of enterprise-wide software systems. This role involves contributing to the full software development lifecycle - from research and prototyping to deployment and maintenance-while ensuring compliance with industry and organisational standards. In this role, you will: Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-level software solutions, with a focus on automation and security. Build and manage CI/CD pipelines to streamline deployment and improve development efficiency. Integrate security automation tools and practices within the development and deployment lifecycle (DevSecOps). Perform software prototyping, coding, testing, documentation, and defect resolution. Evaluate hardware/software interfaces and system requirements to ensure alignment with operational needs. Collaborate with internal teams, customers, and external partners to deliver solutions that meet technical and business requirements. Contribute to project planning, risk identification, and business improvement initiatives. Support and maintain compliance with security, safety, and quality standards. About you: To be successful in this role you will have: To do well in this role, you’ll need a good understanding of key technical tools and some hands-on experience using them. We’re looking for someone who is eager to learn, grow their skills, and contribute to a supportive and fast-moving technical team. Essential: Understanding and hands-on experience with build and continuous integration tools, particularly GitLab CI/CD and Nexus. Experience working with issue tracking and code review tools such as Jira. Proficiency in using Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools, including Ansible, Terraform, and Packer. Solid background in scripting and automation tools to streamline and manage deployment processes. Demonstrated capability in working with the Linux Operating System, including administration and troubleshooting. Exposure to containerisation and orchestration platforms like Docker and Kubernetes, as well as knowledge of virtualisation platforms such as VMWare vSphere and Horizon. (Desirable, but not required).
