This is a (0.74) FTE part-time position on a fixed term contract working at our Burwood and Caulfield South campuses. This is a fixed term employment position replacing a staff member on leave until the end of the School Year with the possibility of extending the contract into 2026. The role and function of a Primary Music Teacher is to plan and deliver engaging and considered classroom music lessons to students from early years to Grade 6. Ideally, the successful candidate will meet the following criteria: Qualified teacher with Full or Provisional VIT Registration or Granted Permission to Teach by VIT Tertiary Music and Education Qualifications A thorough understanding of the Australian Curriculum and assessment Requirements Knowledge of and experience in implementing the Primary Years Program (PYP) of the International Baccalaureate Organisation (IBO) is desirable Demonstrate the required knowledge and understanding to teach classroom music. Is highly competent on their chosen instrument in performing and demonstrates a sound knowledge of music theory. Expresses a growing knowledge and/or a willingness to learn from renowned music education methodologies, building upon teaching strategies, structure, and lesson delivery in teaching classroom music.
