This Principal Legal Advisor role at VicGrid is ideal for a lawyer eager to support major energy infrastructure and renewable projects in Victoria. Reporting to the Director Legal – Projects, the position offers the opportunity to provide legal guidance across a range of initiatives, including transmission infrastructure, renewable energy zones, offshore wind, and key electricity connections, all within a dynamic and growing project environment.What you will deliver * Provide support to the Director Legal – Projects to ensure effective and efficient provision of high-quality, timely and trusted legal advice on a wide range of legal disciplines including but not limited to; commercial, energy, contractual * Provide expert legal advice in relation to all aspects of project development and delivery for VicGrid's engagements. * Draft and coordinate briefings for Government approvals, ensuring a consistent and comprehensive approach on strategy and risk. * Manage complex, contentious or sensitive information with due regard to the regulatory and contractual framework within which it is received. What you will bring * Admitted, or eligible to be admitted, as a legal practitioner to the Supreme Court of Victoria or a similar jurisdiction within Australia. * Experience in a similar role providing high-quality legal support within a complex regulatory and project delivery environment is preferred * A record of successfully developing and negotiating project related documentation on infrastructure projects under a collaborative contracting framework (for example under an ECI, ITC, PPP or Alliance model) would be desirable * Demonstrated experience or knowledge of Victorian Government processes, experience providing legal and commercial advice on large projects preferable.
