The purpose of this position is to bring your expertise in automation, warehouse strategy, bin location management, assessment of current WMS, and ensure successful implementation and continuity of national warehouse systems – allowing for business evolution and growth! Your new role Reporting to the National Operations Director, your new role will see you working Monday to Friday with typical hours being 7am – 3pm. You will be managing national warehouse operations by transforming their current (mostly manual) operations into automated, smart and strategic bin locations, as well as ensuring local yard logistics are efficient. Typically shifts are run across day and afternoon across all sites. With thousands of SKUs in the warehouse, you will implement smart warehousing initiatives across 9 locations; Perth, SA, Auckland, NSW (Wetherill Park) and QLD (Sunshine Coast & Brisbane). Each warehouse varies in size and staffing (total 50 staff approximately across permanent and casual labour hire), with VIC being your base. Your new role will see you drive a tiered 12-month process of implementing strategic warehouse solutions. Once achieved you will oversee all operations, with your 2IC travelling to maintain total upkeep moving forward. Each warehouse will see a direct report into you, as you achieve optimal performance and drive success. Your key deliverables will see you; Achieve standardisation of processes nationwide; Assessment of current WMS nationally across all branch / warehouse networks; Improvement of operational efficiency and cost reduction; Indirectly collaborate with senior management and state-based leadership teams; Ensure absolute compliance of OH&S and ensure signage is visible and held to high regulatory standards; Project management, inventory management, order fulfillment and meeting stringent delivery times; Solution driven management style, both proactive and reactive to national challenges as needed, any workflow problems, along with smooth coordination with Procurement and Logistics teams; Staff training is reviewed and maintained to a high standard, particularly with all new roll outs; and Portray strong people management capabilities as you facilitate growth, and positive work culture to create high performance. Your background 10 years in a National Warehouse Management role, in a similar position / management scale - rolling out strategies across automation, bin locations, & streamlining national warehouse operations; Strong, proven people management experience managing national warehouses & large numbers of staff (remotely); Interstate & local travel - ability to travel interstate as needed, and local yards; Exposure to varied technology around warehousing, and overarching supply chain systems; Experience working with 3PLs and fine-tuning operations / negotiations where needed; Ability to oversee forecasting / budgets / reporting with the Operations Manager etc; Strong commitment to OH&S, alongside first aid training, certifications highly desirable; Ability to work overtime and be flexible as the job requires as you adhere to transformative warehouse changes; and Looking for a permanent, long-term opportunity where you can work closely with the executive leadership team.
