About the Opportunity We are looking for an experienced Process Engineer or Metallurgist to work within our engineering department to develop & guide advanced engineering concepts to assist with our novel mineral processing technology. You will be an integral part of a Project Delivery Team, bringing expert metallurgist knowledge for our lithium extraction projects in Australia and abroad. Responsibilities Perform process engineering tasks including the metallurgical aspects of Novalith's projects while recognizing and managing related safety, risks and opportunity aspects. Work with process engineers and any other disciplines as required to deliver documentation and design for large mineral extraction projects through bench scale and pilot plant development. Create the main engineering process documents and lists for engineering design using your experience for understanding what is included and how to generate best in class engineering documentation. Work closely with management and engineering teams to develop and test new novel technologies. Compilation of Process Design Criteria, Process Flow Diagrams and P&IDs along with associated mass and energy balance calculations. Aid in designs for modular and standardised engineering. Run simulation in Aspen and software to back up simpler excel calculations. Qualification Experience in chemical engineering or metallurgy required and preferred with hydrometallurgy, pyrometallurgy, lithium extraction, and/or acid leaching, neutralization. Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Metallurgical, etc.). 3-8 years’ experience minimum in design, commissioning and/or operational experience of hydrometallurgical processing equipment. Experience working with complicated engineering projects, Industrial Process or Battery chemical processing background advantageous. Experience in Crystallisation, fluidised bed and RO/IX design and operations highly advantageous. Knowledge/Experience in scoping and management of metallurgical test work programs (bench-scale, pilot-scale, on-site testing). Job Benefits Competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package.
