About the company : Our client is responsible for the delivery of quality policing, fire, and emergency management services in Tasmania. The Role: This position requires you to undertake automotive electrical work, maintenance tasks and preventative maintenance of the operational and support vehicle fleet. Work will be undertaken within a team of tradespeople either in a workshop environment or in the field. You will be required to participate in an on-call roster and work outside of normal hours in emergency circumstances (penalty rates apply). These position is on an inial 6 month contract located in Cambridge Tasmania. Assist in the instillation, commissioning and decommissioning of operational and support vehicles Installation, commissioning, maintenance and removal of communication and electronic equipment Inspect, diagnose, modify, repair and test electrical components Assist with the training and supervision of apprentices Automotive trade qualification with proven competence and experience in automotive electrical work essential Electronic and communication in-car equipment or the ability to acquire such knowledge Ability to work as an effective member of a team in an environment of sensitivity, confidentiality, completing priorities deadlines and change. Sound interpersonal skills, with written and oral communication ability.
