Legal Counsel/Projects – Melbourne Legal – Construction Hybrid – Competitive Salary About the role A leading global organisation with a focus on large scale projects is currently seeking an experienced corporate counsel to join it’s In-House team. This role will report directly to the General Counsel, and for part of a high performing , established In-House team. Key responsibilities Providing advice to business units and senior management on significant legal issues and representing the company’s interests on large scale projects and their associated contracts Drafting, reviewing, negotiating and finalising subcontractor/consultant agreements, and variations Ownership and responsibility for the legal service of significant projects Interpreting contract terms and identifying legal/commercial risks. Advising on contract disputes and resolution strategies. Ad-hoc reviews of legal documents such as land access agreements. About You Ideally a minimum 5 years PQE gained within a renowned In-House organisation or private practice firm. Previous exposure to a variety of major projects within the construction sector Demonstrated experience in managing complex construction contracts. Be solutions focused with excellent negotiation skills Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Enjoy working autonomously as well as part of a collegiate team.
