Instructional Designer — Cremorne, Yarra Area

The Opportunity We are seeking a talented and motivated Instructional Designer to join our dedicated VETASSESS team at our Cremorne campus on a 12-month fixed term contract. Reporting to the Trade Assessment Manager, you will play a pivotal role in designing and developing engaging instructional materials tailored for the VET sector, with a strong focus on Skills Recognition and Trades resource requirements. As our Instructional Designer in the VETASSESS portfolio, you'll be at the heart of creating exceptional assessment-centred content and resources. You will collaborate closely with subject matter experts (SMEs), educators, and multimedia developers to produce effective and interactive learning experiences. Your focus will be on analysing learning needs, creating clear instructional objectives, and designing materials that align with VETASSESS goals and ensure assessment quality and compliance. What You'll Do · Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) to analyse learning needs and objectives. · Work with cross-functional teams, including multimedia developers and graphic designers, to create visually appealing and interactive learning experiences. · Lead team brainstorming and strategy meetings with external and internal stakeholders to investigate issues and help define goals and direction. · Design and develop engaging instructional materials, including online courses, multimedia presentations, simulations, and interactive learning modules. · Incorporate effective pedagogical principles and instructional design models to ensure optimal learning outcomes. · Select and utilise appropriate instructional technologies and tools to enhance the learning experience. · Ensure the alignment of instructional materials with learning goals and standards. · Conduct formative and summative evaluations to assess the effectiveness of instructional materials and make necessary improvements. Qualifications · A Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, or a related field; OR lesser formal qualifications with extensive experience. · Vocational qualifications and industry experience in a specific VET-related field are highly advantageous.
