We grow a variety of crops year-round, including broccoli and cauliflower in the winter, and pumpkins and watermelons in the summer. All produce is planted from seeds or seedlings, fertilized, harvested, packed, and sent fresh to customers. The farm prides itself on high-quality produce, closely monitored by an agronomist for optimal quality, water usage, chemical application, fertilizers, and pest management. Jackwitz Farms offers produce in all quantities, ensuring the freshest vegetables from their farm to your table. Job Description: A Forklift Driver is responsible for using forklifts to unload deliveries, stack boxes, and move various items around the farm. The primary focus of this role is to ensure the safe transportation and storage of items without causing damage to products. Tasks for the position include: ·Operate forklifts to unload deliveries and transport items around the farm, adhering to safety protocols and procedures. ·Stack boxes and other items in designated storage areas, ensuring efficient use of space and minimizing the risk of damage to products. ·Inspect forklifts before use to ensure they are in proper working condition, reporting any maintenance issues or concerns to the Horticulture Farm Manager. ·Maintain cleanliness and organization in the warehouse and storage areas, including sweeping floors and removing debris to prevent hazards. ·Collaborate with the Horticulture Farm Manager, other supervisors and team members to coordinate the movement of goods efficiently. ·Follow all relevant safety regulations and guidelines while operating forklifts and handling items, prioritizing the well-being of oneself and others. The Skills Required for This Position Are: ·Certificate II or III in Horticulture, Agriculture, or a related field with a minimum of 1–2 years of relevant experience ·A valid High Risk Work Licence (LF class) issued by Workplace Health and Safety Queensland (WHSQ) ·Proven experience operating forklifts safely and efficiently in agricultural or warehouse settings ·Strong understanding of workplace health and safety regulations and ability to adhere to all safety protocols ·Physical fitness and stamina to perform manual handling tasks, including lifting, stacking, and long periods of operation ·Good hand–eye coordination and spatial awareness when operating heavy machinery ·Ability to inspect and conduct routine checks on forklift machinery and report maintenance needs ·Clear communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment ·Basic knowledge of inventory systems, storage layouts, and product handling ·Strong attention to detail, organisational skills, and the ability to prioritise tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment Application Process: Interested candidates are invited to submit their resume and a cover letter detailing their relevant experience and qualifications to [email protected].
