We support parents, families, children, people with disability, aged people, transport disadvantaged and regional communities. About the Role As our Café Manager/Chef, you’ll be the driving force behind Café Connect’s day-to-day operations and strategic growth. From crafting delicious meals to mentoring staff and supporting people of all abilities in hospitality training, your leadership will help foster a thriving café culture and a welcoming, inclusive community space. Your key accountabilities will include: Daily staff management including task allocation, rostering, recruitment, training and quality control. Ensure consistently excellent customer service and café cleanliness. Oversee the menu, food quality control, food storage and preparation, ordering and stock control. Prepare, cook and present high-quality food. Lead financial management, menu costing, budgets, cash handling and delegations. Manage café operations in accordance with legislation, standards, permits, compliance obligations and internal Policies and Procedures. Be the designated Food Safety Supervisor for Café Connect. Drive business development opportunities for walk-in customers and catering including liaising with the Marketing team for promotions and marketing. Complete monthly operational reports. Assist with the training and involvement of our Transition to Work Customers along with other volunteers. Work with management to explore and develop catering opportunities and development of a commercial training kitchen. To be successful in this role, you will also have the following: At least five years’ experience in Café management, ideally with trade qualifications. Current Food Safety Supervisor certification. Experience in leading a small team, including knowledge of staff rostering. Experience in training and development in a hospitality environment, ideally with exposure to working with people living with a disability. Current unrestricted Australian Drivers Licence.
