Retail Manager – Ramsgate, NSW Kogan People Solutions, recruiters, are working with a well-established tobacco retail co. with outlets in Ramsgate and Lane Cove, NSW. The stores offer a comprehensive range of tobacco products, accessories, and other convenience items. They are now looking for an experienced and qualified Retail Manager to lead their retail establishments. Although based in the Ramsgate location, travel to Lane Cove will be required. This role is ideal for someone with strong leadership qualities, a passion for retail, and the ability to uphold its reputation for responsible retailing and outstanding customer experience. The incumbent will be expected to work rotating shifts across a seven-day week including evenings. The duties and responsibilities of the position will include: Plan, direct, and coordinate the daily operations of the retail store. Visual merchandising to achieve best possible sales outcome. Developing strategies to deliver results and performance in store. Managing smooth and efficient running of store to ensure operational excellence. Handle customer inquiries and resolve complaints in a professional and timely manner. Enforce compliance with legal requirements, including those relating to the sale of tobacco products. Manage and supervise staff, including recruitment, rostering, performance management, and training. Ensuring the provision of a superior level of customer service. Ensuring a high level of stock control and minimal stock loss and damage. Wage and expense control of the store. Cost control, understanding of financial documents such as profit and loss statements. Maintaining operations by implementing and following policies and standard operating procedures. What we’re looking for: Appropriate relevant post-secondary qualifications to at least Diploma level or equivalent. At least 1 to 3, or more, years’ experience in a customer service retail environment at supervisory or management levels. Proven ability to organize, mentor and provide leadership to staff. Demonstrate a strong customer focus - possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the confidence to deal and work with a diverse range of customers. Solid business acumen and administration skills. Ability to maintain professionalism under pressure. Be highly organised and able to prioritise workloads to effectively meet deadlines. High computer literacy in EFTPOS and register / POS systems. Ability to create, implement, manage and sell new product lines and promotions. Easy going person comfortable with a locally owned business. Strong understanding of OH&S requirements, Possess a full NSW driver’s license. Unrestricted rights to work full time in Australia.
