Position : Customer Service Officer Start : ASAP Duration : 6 months from start date Salary : $45.00 plus superannuation Location : Sydney CBD Overview Our client is seeking a Customer Service Officer to respond to calls relating to Rates, Waste and other services. Primary Purpose of the Position Customer Service Contact Officers are responsible for delivering high-quality, friendly, accurate, and efficient service across a wide range of customer needs, supporting residents, businesses, community members, and visitorsOutline purpose of the role. Key Accountabilities/Responsibilities: Respond accurately to inquiries, including those related to rates, waste collection, and general services Liaise with internal teams and advocate on behalf of customers to ensure the best possible outcomes Identify and escalate issues that may negatively impact the organisation’s reputation or customer experience Provide proactive, courteous, and professional service when welcoming and assisting members of the public in accessing services Contribute to a positive customer experience through strong written and verbal communication skills, effective conflict resolution, adaptability in interpersonal approaches, and resilience when managing challenging interactions — all while maintaining a high standard of personal presentation Support consistent, high-quality service delivery by meeting key performance indicators (KPIs), seeking and applying feedback, collaborating with colleagues, and engaging in ongoing training and development Desirable Criteria Minimum 12 months previous contact centre experience Tech savy Essential Criteria Appointments are subject to the following checks/ clearances: Reference checks X 2 National Criminal History Record Check in accordance with the Disability Inclusion Act 2014 Rights to Work in Australia When applying for this role, please include a Word version of your resume (not PDF).
