DIRECTORATE : Business, Growth & Community CLASSIFICATION : Grade B SALARY : $30.18 to $35.01 per hour 11.5% employer contribution to superannuation REPORTING TO : Service Coordinator Banjora EMPLOYMENT TYPE : Permanent Part Time THE POSITION: To ensure that the AlburyCity's Early Childhood Education and Care service operates in an efficient and effective manner, while providing a safe, nurturing and stimulating learning environment for all children attending Banjora. Responsibilities KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: To assist with the provision of education and care programs in line with requirements of the Early Years Learning Framework. To be actively involved with all children and assist the to develop their skills throughout daily routines. To contribute to education and care documentation. To uphold the Education and care Services National Regulations and National Quality Standards requirements, contributing to the Assessment and Ratings process. To follow housekeeping practices which ensures that equipment is maintained at an optimal level, reporting on this as required. To be responsible for cleaning in relation to the group. Qualifications KEY RELATIONSHIPS: Internal Our people External Our Community EMPLOYMENT CONDITIONS: Based on a 38 hour week, working a minimum of 20 hours per week, with actual days and times to be negotiated with the supervisor, with no RDO. This position requires attendance at meetings outside normal work hours. This position has the opportunity to carry out the role of an Educational Leader on a rotational basis, dependent on experience and understanding. This position requires you to wear a compulsory uniform as per AlburyCity’s Our People Dress Code Standards. Our People are required to present a smart and professional image to the public at all times including when in public and when working remotely. This position involves working both indoor and outdoor, along with computer work. The position requires a moderate level of aerobic and physical fitness to undertake regular physical activities such as walking, lifting, pulling, pushing along with the capacity to maintain normal manual handling tasks across the work day – depending on the nature of the tasks undertaken. Appropriate WHS standards will be applied for all manual handing activity. A full functional and medical assessment is required for this position. This position requires evidence of vaccination against the following infectious diseases: Hepatitis A Pertussis (Whooping Cough) Measles, Mumps & Rubella (MMR) Varicella (Chicken Pox) This position requires evidence of a current NSW Working with Children Clearance This position is subject to alcohol and other drug testing This position is located at Banjora Children’s Centre (Cardo Drive, Springdale Heights) with occasional visits to external sites/depots and AlburyCity Administration Building as required ESSENTIAL CRITERIA: Certificate III Early Childhood Education and Care NSW Working with Children Clearance Current First Aid Certificate (compulsory to have and maintain) Current Accredited Emergency Asthma Management Training (compulsory to have and maintain) Current Accredited Anaphylaxis Management Training (compulsory to have and maintain) DESIRABLE CRITERIA Class C (standard) Drivers Licence EXPERIENCE: Relevant experience as a Child Care Educator in a Long Day Care centre SPECIALIST KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS: Sound knowledge of child development Working knowledge of the Early Years Learning Framework as well as the National Quality Framework The ability to prioritise work and meet deadlines
