We are seeking a highly motivated person for the role of Mechanical Engineer to join the WA Energy group in our Perth office. You will be challenged with growing the team to support delivery of our energy transition services as well as continued support of our traditional energy clients. The group is at the forefront of a number of innovative energy projects. This position will require a well-rounded engineer, ideally from a consulting background, with a motivation to support both winning and delivery of projects. You will need to possess good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively to meet client requirements. This is an opportunity to join a group delivering leading edge energy transition projects across Australia and internationally. Working with an energetic and high performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in: Preparation of mechanical engineering investigations, designs and calculations Technical report writing following both client and/or GHD guidelines Supporting and / or leading the preparation of proposals for bids and tenders Client liaison including meetings and phone calls Liaising with peers throughout GHD in other departments, business groups, and service lines Providing direction and support of drafting staff Perform site inspections and prepare site surveillance reports Project manage jobs where required Possess job management skills to a level where you are able to manage various aspects of project delivery as required, including quality in design management, safety in design, costing and programming What would you bring to the team? 2-3 years of experience working as a mechanical engineer An interest in the energy sector and the evolving options around a low carbon energy future Ability to collaborate across disciplines and teams to support the delivery of projects and achieve successful outcomes for our clients Experience in engineering design, including process piping and mechanical equipment; pipelines experience is advantageous Experience in engineering consulting preferred but not essential Experience in the areas of hydrogen, chemicals, biofuels, or process plants is desirable Degree qualification in Mechanical Engineering Interested?
