Network Engineer - BlueCAT — Sydney, Sydney Region

Role Overview Launch recruitment are working with a large consultancy supporting a large banking client. The BlueCat DDI Specialist is responsible for the configuration, management, and optimization of DNS, DHCP, and IP Address Management (IPAM) services in a dynamic and business-critical network environment. This role plays a key part in ensuring the availability, security, and performance of DDI services, working closely with network engineers, system administrators, and cybersecurity teams. Location: Sydney Salary: $960 per day Duration: 7 months - will the potential to extend Key Responsibilities DNS Management Configure and manage DNS servers, zones, and records for reliable and responsive DNS resolution. Implement DNS security features, including DNSSEC and DDoS mitigation. Monitor DNS performance and perform regular audits to ensure integrity and consistency. DHCP Management Administer DHCP servers and scope configurations, ensuring efficient IP address distribution and lease management. Monitor DHCP performance and address pool utilization to avoid conflicts and service outages. IP Address Management (IPAM) Plan, allocate, and manage IP address space using BlueCat’s advanced IPAM tools. Maintain a centralized view of all IP resources and ensure accurate tracking of subnets and allocations. Integration & Collaboration Work with network and systems engineering teams to integrate DDI services into broader infrastructure. Support deployment and automation efforts across on-prem and hybrid cloud environments. Troubleshooting & Support Provide technical support and troubleshooting for DNS, DHCP, and IPAM-related issues. Identify root causes of service disruptions and implement long-term solutions. Security & Compliance Enforce security policies for DDI components in accordance with organizational standards. Ensure compliance with relevant industry regulations and frameworks. Documentation & Reporting Maintain detailed and up-to-date documentation of DDI configurations, architecture, operational procedures, and change history. Produce reports for audit, compliance, and capacity planning. Skills & Qualifications Proven experience managing BlueCat DDI solutions or similar enterprise-grade platforms. Strong understanding of DNS, DHCP, and IPAM principles , protocols, and best practices. Familiarity with DNSSEC, DDoS protection, and secure DDI design . Experience with network infrastructure , including routing, switching, and firewalls. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills. Excellent communication and collaboration abilities. Relevant certifications (e.g., BlueCat Certified Professional, CCNA/CCNP, CompTIA Network) are a plus. Desirable Experience Working within large enterprise or financial services environments . Automation and scripting (e.g., PowerShell, Python) for DDI processes.
