Maximum hours 40 hours per week Security clearance Must have Baseline clearance Job details Software Engineers have experience overseeing software development projects, writing optimised code, and provide technical leadership to a team of software engineers. They are responsible for the quality and functionality of the software produced by their team. Key duties and responsibilities The Specified Personnel will be responsible for providing the following deliverables including but not limited to: Updating the existing SAP environment by working with ICT and business units to modernise the environment; Analysing system issues and providing problem resolution; Implementing additional and maintaining multiple SAP instances that comprise the Departments SAP environment (Dev/Test/Stage/Prod/DR); Introducing technical changes to the environment using a structured approach, minimising risk and achieving high reliability, availability and performance of each SAP instance; Designing and implementing optimal SAP configuration to maximise system performance and availability; Installing and configuring all SAP applications and associated Oracle and/or HANA databases; Distributing the online SAP user workload and monitoring and managing the SAP background job workload; Monitoring all SAP systems (e.g. work processes, users, system logs, short dumps, locks, developer traces, system traces, disk space and messaging within PO including comm channels etc.); Performing SAP client administration (create client, copy client, delete client, export/import clients as required); Applying and migrating SAP notes, support packs and enhancement packs through all systems and environments using a structured methodology; Participating in planning and implementation of SAP system upgrades; Providing maintenance and support during and after go-lives; Providing out of hours support, including a requirement to be on call. This entails: Specified Personnel to be available, and in the ‘required state of readiness’ to perform extra duty outside of standard business hours; The ‘required state of readiness’ includes the requirement for Specified Personnel to: Physically attend on site within 60 minutes of notification of requirement to attend or as directed by the Director, HR & Finance Systems. Maintain compliance with the Department’s Professional Standards and Integrity Framework, which includes but is not limited to, ensuring Services are not performed whilst impaired by any legal or illegal drugs or alcohol. Supporting 4 major releases per year which would generally involve working a Friday night from 9pm into early morning Saturday and being on-call to support system that weekend post go-live of release; Rostered 1 Sunday per month (3 to 4 hours) to undertake server patching of the SAP production landscape; On-call roster roughly 1 week per month. Could be 2 depending on leave of staff etc. – only to support Sev 1 and 2 incidents if they occur; Undertaking ad-hoc after hours and weekend work e.g. Optus network DR testing, apply SAP changes (e.g. system moves etc.) “occasionally” that require an outage and must be completed within the COW (Consolidated Outage Window – Sat 2pm through to Sunday 9am). Specified Personnel will be provided with a mobile telephone while on call. Specified Personnel will be expected to transfer skills and knowledge to departmental staff and ensure appropriate documentation is stored in accordance with the Department’s recordkeeping policy and practices. The Specified Personnel will be responsible for producing the following deliverables, including but not limited to: Test Plans Technical Requirements Documentation Design Documents All deliverables performed by the specified personnel must: be performed or delivered promptly and without delay in accordance with the timeframes notified by the buyer from time to time; and meet the assessment and performance criteria set out in any monitoring and performance assessment processes notified to the seller from time to time. Criteria The buyer has specified that each candidate must provide a one page pitch to address all criteria specified. This is equal to 5000 characters. Essential criteria 1. Extensive experience and knowledge of SAP BASIS administrative functions and responsibilities, incl. Oracle and HANA Database administration; 2. SAP certified or equivalent BASIS administrator training; 3. Ability to work out of business hours and to provide on-call support, as required; 4. Knowledge and experience of SAP Solution Manager, its functions and capabilities, in particular CHARM, monitoring and alerts; 5. Knowledge and experience of SAP Process Orchestration and its functions and capabilities. 6. Excellent oral/verbal communication skills; Desirable criteria 1. Experience working in Commonwealth Government agencies highly regarded; 2. Azure DevOPs; 3. Strong attention to detail; 4. Excellent organisational and time management skills.
