We are seeking a motivated and technically capable Junior Computer Network and Systems Engineer to join their team. The successful candidate will assist in the planning, implementation, monitoring, and maintenance of computer networks and IT infrastructure. Duties and Responsibilities: Assist in the on-site installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of computer networks and systems, including both hardware and software components. Perform server setup and configuration, including physical installation, operating system deployment, RAID configuration, and remote management tools such as iDRAC/iLO. Monitor network and system performance, availability, and security; respond promptly to alerts, outages, and service degradation. Provide first- and second-level technical support to internal teams and external clients, ensuring timely resolution of IT issues. Support and maintain core network infrastructure such as routers, switches, firewalls, wireless controllers, and access points. Assist in the implementation and enforcement of network security and cybersecurity protocols, including endpoint protection, access controls, patch management, and data protection measures. Participate in vulnerability assessments and assist in applying security updates and hardening configurations across systems. Work collaboratively with senior engineers to plan, test, and deploy network and system upgrades, patches, and new solutions. Maintain detailed documentation of network topologies, server configurations, system settings, cybersecurity controls, and troubleshooting steps. Participate actively in infrastructure and system improvement projects, including cloud integration and automation initiatives. Assist in user onboarding processes, including provisioning network access, configuring workstations, and ensuring system compliance. Conduct routine system health checks and assist in capacity planning to support organizational growth. Perform duties as directed by project management and leadership team. Requirements: Bachelor’s/ Master’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline. Minimum one (1) to two (2) years’ hands-on experience in a network support or system administration role. Foundational knowledge of network administration including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, and routing/switching concepts. Experience with Windows and/or Linux server environments, Active Directory, and remote support tools. Familiarity with firewall configurations, VPNs, wireless networks, and endpoint security tools. Exposure to network and system monitoring tools and diagnostic utilities (e.g., SolarWinds, Wireshark, PRTG, Nagios). Understanding of cybersecurity protocols and best practices, including access control, data protection, and system hardening. Experience in server configuration, RAID setup, and remote management tools such as iDRAC or iLO. Strong analytical thinking, troubleshooting ability, and effective communication skills. A proactive attitude with a willingness to learn new technologies and take ownership of tasks. Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced team environment and manage multiple priorities effectively. White Card (General Construction Induction Training) – mandatory for site access. SafeWork NSW Certificate – demonstrating awareness of WHS responsibilities and practices. Valid Driver Licence – essential for on-site travel and equipment transport.
