The key duties of the position include Employment Opportunity Information Division (ID) is responsible for supporting the department's core ICT infrastructure and services. The division has a diverse range of responsibilities including cloud services, network support, ICT project management, business system development, information governance and security operations. Working in ID provides an opportunity to encourage business value through the use of technology. ID is seeking a System Administrator to assist with the development and maintenance of commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) products and a number of enterprise platforms. The role is responsible for operational activities including creating, maintaining and managing ICT products, patching, processes and alerts in on-premise and hybrid-cloud environments. The System Administrator sits within the Application Sustainment section directly contributing to the delivery of the ICT Strategy, providing user-centric services and modernising the department's ICT portfolio. The System Administrator position will manage COTS products, working on a number of applications including, but not limited to: Content Manager, Aurion, Nuix, TM1 and Elite. We seek skills and experience managing, maintaining and supporting hybrid cloud and on-premise COTS products undertaking the following tasks: Patching operating systems COTS applications Renewing SSL certificates, administering service accounts and security groups Writing and maintaining technical and operational documents Engaging with product stakeholders to establish business needs Providing 3rd level IT support for COTS applications. Desirable skill and experience: Experience with SQL database administration. How you can help us make a difference Activities may include but are not limited to: Assist with the investigation and resolution of issues relating to products Provide effective third level IT support for all departmental corporate applications Provide high quality issue identification, technical analysis, resolutions and stakeholder communication for problems raised Create and maintain high quality documentation that is fit for purpose and able to be provided to support areas as required Provide appropriate advice and escalation to senior administrators on complex issues Maintain a sound rapport with internal and external stakeholders Demonstrate ability to apply skills to a range of situations to overcome different challenges Collaborate effectively within the team and with other support teams when required Effectively prioritise own work and deadlines in line with priorities shared in the team and section Ensure that decision-making and recommendations are based on critical analysis and evidence Identify opportunities to expand own knowledge and technical skill, seek out other expertise and assist in the transfer of knowledge to others Adhere to change management and incident management process Installation, maintenance and support of Microsoft and third-party applications Regular system checks, windows patching and on call support as required Awareness of the ACSC Essential 8 framework, working as part of the team to ensure systems and applications are compliant.
