The Regulatory Services Branch is the driver for maintaining and enhancing a radiation protection, and nuclear safety and security, regulatory framework for Commonwealth entities using or producing radiation, guided by national policies and international best practice. It is also a key driver for establishing a national regulatory framework across all jurisdictions, in collaboration with state and territory regulators. Its activities include regulatory assessment and review, licensing, compliance, inspection and enforcement. It also issues import and export permits for radioactive material, and supports the role of ARPANSA during nuclear and radiological incidents and emergencies. The Branch maintains the Australian Radiation Incident Register, and enhances its outreach through establishing whole of Australian Government relationships and through the facilitation of the Nuclear Safety and the Radiation Health Committees. Working under general direction of the Branch Head, the Administrative Support Officer is responsible for providing administrative support to the Regulatory Services Branch team and other ARPANSA staff based in Miranda. This will involve providing secretariat support to the Regulatory Services Branch Executive team and for Branch meetings. The Administrative Support Officer will provide executive support to the Branch Head RSB and to the CEO whilst based in Miranda, and provide travel services to the RSB officers and other staff based in Miranda. The role is part of a broader administration team in the Miranda Office, and provides backup for this team in delivering import and export permit and licence administration services. The key duties of the position include Key accountabilities Provide high level executive and administrative support to the RSB members and other ARPANSA staff based in Miranda, the Regulatory Services Branch Head and CEO of ARPANSA as required Provide Executive support to the Branch Head through diary management and preparation of annual budget inputs Provide high level administrative and clerical support to the ARPANSA Branch Executive team including preparing agendas, minutes and action lists for Branch Executive meetings Provide high level administrative support to RSB members and other Miranda staff, including arrangements for domestic and international travel Undertake assigned tasks for Miranda staff as required Our ideal candidate - job specific capabilities The successful applicant will have a demonstrated capacity to provide high level administrative, clerical and executive support to a wide range of stakeholders and clients, including an Executive Group. The applicant should have demonstrated ability and experience in the operation of the Microsoft Office Suite of products, including databases and electronic records management systems. You must hold Australian citizenship and be prepared to travel interstate from time to time as required. ARPANSA requires all new employees to obtain and maintain a national security clearance as a condition of engagement. You must also meet required pre-employment checks as necessary.
