Position Overview We are seeking a talented Control Systems / Automation Engineer to join our team at our Bayswater Head Office. Reporting to the Systems Engineering Team Leader (NPD), you will play a pivotal role in the design and integration of control systems for industrial machinery within our groundbreaking smart factory program. This is a unique opportunity to tackle complex technical challenges and witness your contributions in action as we enable fully automated “lights out” factory operations for our clients. Key Responsibilities Develop and deploy intricate systems for the smart factory automation program Engage in testing and Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) / Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) activities Prepare and execute assigned work packages in accordance with project milestones Conduct IEC PLC code development and systems integration Participate in technical and design reviews, ensuring robust design interfaces Provide timely updates on project status, including milestones, risks, and issues Candidate Profile The ideal candidate will possess a strong engineering background combined with hands-on experience in control systems and automation. You should be a proactive problem solver with a passion for innovation. Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics, Electrical or Electronic Engineering, or a related discipline Approximately 5 years of experience in a similar role Expertise in high-level PLC programming (Structured Text, Sequential Function Chart, Ladder Logic) Proficient in Codesys / Beckhoff TwinCAT or other IEC 61131-3 based PLC programming Experience in designing efficient error reporting systems and fault-finding best practices Competence in sizing, selecting, setting up, and testing electrical and control hardware Hands-on experience with industrial machinery design from concept through detailed design phases Knowledge of safety design, risk assessment, and safety PLC programming Familiarity with fieldbus networking technologies such as EtherCAT, MODBUS, and TCP/IP Salary & Benefits We offer a competitive salary package complemented by flexible working arrangements, and various career development opportunities.
