About the Job About the role We are establishing a pool of qualified candidates with strong field experience in railway signalling systems within a safety-critical environment. Successful applicants will have broad system knowledge and deep expertise in one or more areas, such as design, construction, testing and commissioning, or maintenance of conventional and CBTC-based systems. The Network and Infrastructure Division currently has four Level 5 and two Level 6 vacancies available within the Signals Branch at the PTA: Senior Signals Engineer – Level 6 Senior Rail Systems Engineer – Level 6 Signals Engineer – Level 5 Signals Systems Engineer – Level 5 Rail Systems Engineer – Level 5 Signals Engineer – Level 5 About You! To excel in these roles, you should possess: Signalling design, including standards development and design/verification of relay-based, processor-based, and CBTC interlocking systems. Testing and commissioning, including roles such as Functional Tester, Principles Tester, and Tester-in-Charge. Project engineering, providing technical leadership across multiple signalling projects. Maintenance engineering, including root cause and reliability analysis, development of technical instructions, and coordination of type approvals. Rail systems expertise, covering Train Control, Automatic Train Supervision (ATS), Automatic Train Protection (ATP), and Automatic Train Operation (ATO).
