About The Role: Are you ready to take your career to the next level? Compare the Market and iSelect are seeking an experienced Senior Test Engineer to join our collaborative Engineering team. In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to shape and execute comprehensive test strategies, ensuring that our software solutions meet the highest standards of quality and performance. You will lead efforts in test planning, estimation, scheduling, and resource allocation, designing and analyzing requirements for testability and risks while actively supporting the overall testing strategy to ensure alignment with business objectives. You’ll oversee all testing activities, including system, integration, end-to-end, and user acceptance testing, ensuring consistent test environments and effective defect management. As a Senior Test Engineer, you will collaborate closely with developers, product owners, and project managers to communicate progress, results, risks, and issues, providing actionable insights and detailed test reports to stakeholders. You’ll also mentor and coach junior test engineers, fostering their growth and contributing to the continuous improvement of our testing processes and methodologies. What You’ll Do: Lead the design, development, and execution of comprehensive test plans and test cases to ensure the highest software quality standards across full-stack application environments. Drive the development and maintenance of automated UI test suites using tools such as Playwright (or similar) to streamline testing and increase efficiency. Utilise tools like Supertest, Axios, and Postman for automated API testing, ensuring robust integration and functionality of our services. Oversee performance testing initiatives, using tools such as Artillery.io, JMeter, and Lighthouse to ensure applications meet performance benchmarks. Implement and manage cross-browser and cross-device testing strategies, leveraging platforms like BrowserStack for broad coverage and compatibility. Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines, adhering to best practices in continuous integration and delivery. Collaborate using Azure DevOps (or similar ALM tools) for version control, test case management, and reporting; experience with tools like Xray for test management will be key. Lead defect management, ensuring efficient identification, tracking, and resolution of issues, while providing actionable feedback to development teams. Work with cloud platforms, specifically AWS, to leverage its services in testing environments and improve testing capabilities. Contribute to Salesforce or WordPress testing for both custom and standard functionalities, if applicable. Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the testing processes and methodologies, refining tools, approaches, and team productivity. Use strong analytical and problem-solving skills to diagnose complex issues, develop test strategies, and improve test coverage. What You’ll Bring: 7 years of hands-on testing experience with a strong focus on test automation across full-stack applications Proven ability to create and maintain detailed Test Plans and Summary Reports Expertise in building automated UI test suites using Playwright or similar tools Proficiency in automated API testing with tools like Supertest, Axios, or Postman Experience with performance testing using tools such as Artillery.io, JMeter, or Lighthouse Solid understanding of cross-browser/device testing and platforms like BrowserStack Practical knowledge of CI/CD practices and integrating automated tests into pipelines Proficiency with Azure DevOps and test management tools like Xray or BrowserStack Test Management Strong skills in defect identification, tracking, and providing clear, actionable feedback Experience with AWS cloud services for testing purposes Familiarity with testing Salesforce or WordPress functionalities is highly desirable A continuous improvement mindset, with experience enhancing testing processes and tools Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for diagnosing issues and refining test strategies Experience working in regulated industries such as finance or utilities is a plus Our Benefits At Compare the Market we offer a dynamic and collaborative work environment where your talents will be recognised and rewarded.
