Position: Inclusive Practices Teacher (Primary) - "Learning, Leading, Succeeding" Literacy Program Commencing Date: June 2025 Tenure: Full Time, Fixed Term Hourly Rate: $84,077 - $123,101 per annum pending experience Closing Date: Monday 16 June 2025 unless filled prior St Michael's Catholic School, Palm Island is a co-educational Catholic primary school on Palm Island, offering Prep to Year 6. Established in 1938, the school enjoys magnificent ocean views and natural surroundings including a creek, green hills and beachfront. The Sisters of Our Lady Help of Christians opened the school and later the Franciscan Missionaries of Mary Sisters took charge, remaining on the island until 2011. Their mission 'Truth by Love,' remains the school’s motto. St Michael's Catholic School exists to serve the community's Indigenous people, with the majority of students being of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander descent. About the role St Michael's Catholic School, Palm Island is seeking a dedicated Inclusive Practices Teacher . This role is a full t ime, fixed term position starting June 2025 to the end of the 2026 school year. The Inclusive Practices Teacher is a new, fully released role at St Michael’s and can take the form of a secondment (if required and by negotiation) for the implementation period of the “Learning, Leading, Succeeding” project . It is an exciting opportunity for anyone who is passionate about First Nations Education and/ or Literacy Improvement and will enhance the role holder's Leadership capacity, making this role an ideal stepping stone into Senior Leadership roles.
