About the Role We are seeking a skilled and driven Civil Project Engineer to join our team on a large-scale rail infrastructure project entering its final and most complex stages. The successful candidate will play a critical role in delivering a multifaceted program of civil and finishing works that support the integration and commissioning of both freight and passenger rail networks. This is a delivery-focused role that will suit an experienced civil engineer ready to take ownership of subcontractor management, cost control, and program tracking. You will join a dedicated team committed to safety, quality, and collaborative delivery in a high-paced, live rail environment. Responsibilities Include: Overseeing all civil finishing works including pavements, asphalting, kerbing, line marking, and soft landscaping (e.g., irrigation systems, tree planting, mulch placement, and brick paving). Coordinating and managing all subcontractors on site, ensuring safety, quality, and schedule compliance. Managing daily cost tracking and forecasting , including preparation of cost reports, variation submissions, and budget control. Keeping the construction program up to date , working closely with the broader delivery team to manage milestones and ensure timely project delivery. Supporting commissioning activities and contributing to successful interconnection of rail assets and final asset acceptance. Collaborating with stakeholders and integrating requirements from multiple interfacing disciplines. About You: An engineering degree-qualified (ideally civil) with demonstrated experience in infrastructure or civil construction environments. Previous experience with earthworks, pavements, asphalting, and general civil works , ideally in a finishing works capacity. Proven ability to manage and coordinate subcontractors, including planning, cost control, and site supervision. Competent in cost tracking systems and financial forecasting tools. Able to work confidently under pressure and hit the ground running following a short handover period. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Strong focus on safety, compliance, and collaborative delivery. While experience with Public Transport Authority (PTA) or Main Roads WA is not required, the role will involve working in regulated environments—training will be provided as needed. Why join us?
