As their operations expand, they are seeking an experienced and strategic Senior Wind Engineer to join their team and lead critical technical functions. The Opportunity In this role, you will serve as the technical focal point for wind resource assessment and project analysis. You will lead a team of skilled engineers and development professionals, ensure best-in-class technical practices, and collaborate closely with internal and external stakeholders. Key Responsibilities Technical Leadership Act as the company’s expert on wind resource modelling and assessment. Mentor and guide engineers and development managers within the technical team. Ensure the use of state-of-the-art software and tools for efficient resource evaluation. Liaise with consultants, investors, and stakeholders to align technical strategies and project goals. Provide oversight of design processes for both pre-construction and construction assets. Deliver technical expertise to support projects beyond Final Investment Decision (FID). Wind Resource & Project Analysis Conduct wind resource and energy yield assessments using industry best practices. Analyze site conditions including noise, shadow flicker, and physical constraints. Design and optimize turbine layouts integrating technical and environmental data. Support Development Managers by aligning technical assessments with project planning. Conduct mesoscale analysis to assess new site viability. Train and develop engineers within the technical team. Wind Monitoring Management Plan and oversee wind monitoring campaigns including installation and maintenance of masts and remote sensing devices. Review wind data to identify and resolve faults. Conduct validations for remote sensing technology and develop monitoring strategies. Additional Responsibilities Analyse data related to grid connections and hybrid system configurations. Create GIS outputs such as terrain profiles and layout maps. Contribute to technical reports and project documentation. What We’re Looking For Qualifications & Experience MSc or equivalent in Engineering. Minimum 5 years of experience in renewable energy projects, with a focus on wind. Deep understanding of industry H&S policies and CDM regulations. Proficiency with wind analysis tools and GIS platforms. Skills & Competencies Strong leadership and mentoring abilities. Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills. Innovative and solutions-focused mindset. Capable of working independently and managing competing priorities. Full, valid driver’s license.
