Epidemiologist – Prevention and Population Health About the Role We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Epidemiologist to join our Prevention and Population Health team at the South East Public Health Unit (SEPHU). In this role, you will contribute to SEPHU’s data and intelligence functions by maintaining and enhancing a comprehensive suite of data, intelligence, and reporting products. Your primary responsibilities will include updating health needs assessments, population profiles, and evaluation reports for SEPHU’s catchment and each Local Government Area (LGA). You will conduct statistical analyses, perform data extraction, and develop interactive dashboards and reports to support evidence-based decision-making and continuous improvement in public health. About You To be successful in this role, you will have a tertiary qualification in Statistics, Biostatistics, Epidemiology, Public Health, Data Science, or a related field, with a postgraduate degree preferred. You will have demonstrated experience in population health surveillance, epidemiological analysis, and reporting, as well as proficiency in statistical software such as Stata, SPSS, SAS, or R. Experience with SQL, Databricks, and dashboard tools like Power BI or Tableau is essential. You will possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, the ability to work independently and collaboratively, and a high level of initiative and accountability. Knowledge of data governance and security protocols, as well as experience with REDCap for data collection and management, will be highly regarded.
