Plant and Production Engineer — Craigieburn, Hume Area

About the Job Due to expansion, we are seeking an experienced Plant & Production Engineer to join our team. Permanent, full-time Monday to Friday Based in Craigieburn Duties and Responsibilities: Analysis of procured raw structural steel for compliance with the applicable AS/NZ Standards. Review drawings and documentation to ensure products being manufactured will meet specifications and standards for use and can be manufactured with the existing factory equipment meeting volume requirements. As required be involved with specifying and managing delivery of additional plant/ machinery Apply skilled engineering principles to establish effective manufacturing capability for a variety of products. This includes resolving any design and/or operational challenges for machinery, settings, and manufacturing processes incorporating but not limited to plant and systems flow Apply skilled engineering principles to design and streamline, the coatings processes, including machinery requirements, process flow and plant capabilities Implement and adhere to safety regulations within the production and manufacturing process Establish maintenance procedures for manufacturing plant and equipment. Using engineering knowhow to provide direction and to optimise plant performance and throughput Establish process and systems for QA testing of products, equipment, and machinery during manufacture as well as when completed. For each new project undertaken prepare working instructions and full cost plans for materials, manufacture, transport, delivery and if need be, any additional staff. Keep up to date with current relevant regulations and codes in relation to products manufactured. Supporting staff to ensure manufacturing facilities operate in accordance with required standards, process and codes including managing regular and scheduled plant maintenance. Commission machinery maintenance and modifications, including making any adjustments required. Keep up to date on innovative technology in the industry, assess any developments for their suitability to the business and make suggestions and recommendations as appropriate. Assist and support management by providing recommendations for new innovations and product improvement. Manage the provision of all required technical documentation in consultation with internal and external engineers. Keep complete records, reports, and statistical information for traceable reference files. Assist in formulating and comply with all of the company’s workplace health and safety procedures.
