Senior Electrical Engineer — The Rocks, Sydney

Location: Erskine Park (Onsite) Contract: 12-Month Initial Contract (High Likelihood to Extend or Go Permanent) Pay Rate: $120-$150/hour (Depending on Experience) WFH Flexibility: Minimal – this is an onsite, hands-on role Talent International has partnered with a leading ASX-listed manufacturing company to source an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer for a major upgrade project based in Erskine Park. The project is currently transitioning from installation to commissioning, and the client requires a seasoned professional with a strong process line background in heavy industry. Key Responsibilities: Electrical and Instrumentation (E&I) engineering across allocated project packages Involvement across the full lifecycle: design, procurement, installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting Combination of project coordination and onsite, hands-on work Reporting to the Engineering Manager and leading a small team (junior engineer/draftsperson) 50-60 hour work weeks, including occasional Saturday half-days Direct site engagement – this is not a desktop or office-only position Key Requirements: 5-10 years of experience in heavy industry, specifically in process line environments Steel industry process line experience highly desirable Experience in other steel or paper processing or similar industries also highly valued Proven track record in hands-on panel installation, commissioning, and site troubleshooting Strong understanding of Australian electrical standards, risk management, and project delivery methodologies Siemens product experience (especially PLCs or drives) highly regarded Autodesk proficiency (for electrical design/drafting) strongly preferred Ability to design and/or draft is a significant advantage Strong leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills What’s On Offer: Work under a highly respected Engineering Manager in a collaborative and driven team Clear potential to transition into a long-term or permanent position Opportunity to move into commissioning leadership roles as the project advances Long-term pipeline of work well beyond the initial 12-month contract To Apply: If you meet the criteria and are ready to take on a pivotal role in a high-impact project, click Apply Now to submit your resume and express your interest.
