About the Company My client is a dynamic, global consultancy dedicated to pushing the boundaries of product innovation and design. They develop products and systems spanning medical technology, consumer, scientific and industrial applications, working with both large multinational and early-stage start-up companies. The Role This role will suit a proactive and flexible Senior Mechanical Design Engineer with 15 years of experience in product development, with some experience in a product design and development consultancy environment. You will work collaboratively on diverse projects, leveraging your strong communication skills and client-facing experience to deliver outstanding solutions. Lead and manage the end-to-end product development process, from concept to production Define product parameters and drive innovative, manufacturable solutions Collaborate with cross-functional teams to problem-solve and deliver creative solutions across multiple projects Engage with clients to understand their needs, providing insightful and effective consultancy Conduct detailed engineering analysis including calculations: GD&T, DFM, FEA, and BOM management Oversee prototype builds and hands-on CAD design (SolidWorks preferred) Ensure compliance with quality standards, with ISO 13485 knowledge highly desirable Manage project timelines, budgets and changes effectively Skills and experience Circa 15 years of experience in product development Experience in a product design and development consultancy environment Proven track record of creative problem-solving and delivering innovative solutions Strong experience across all phases of product development Excellent communication skills with client-facing experience Proactive, flexible, and enthusiastic about working on diverse projects Familiarity with intricate mechanical systems Knowledge of environmental and durability standards Proficient in manufacturing processes N.B.
