Senior Controls Engineer — Brisbane CBD, Brisbane

Sedgman is seeking a suitably qualified and experienced Senior Controls Engineer to join our team in Brisbane. What does this role involve? As the Senior Controls Engineer you will provide services at a senior level, to plan and co-ordinate complex engineering design assignments entailing technical specifications and detailed planning, recommending changes to specification or design engineering processes as appropriate. Provide leadership and supervise the control system design team and ensure the achievement of agreed quality, completion and profit objectives Define and recommend design methods, specifications and performance of functional requirements for new projects. Undertake and/or supervise the preparation of feasibility studies, reports, design layouts, system block diagrams, calculations, specifications, bills of quantities, materials lists and cost estimates for all processing plant control system. Furnish drafting staff with information necessary to produce models and detailed logic drawings for all minerals processing. Carry out site inspections and liaise with suppliers, clients, consultants or commissioning engineers concerning the design, installation, construction and commissioning of assigned work. Implement the detailed engineering design, software programming, testing and commission for the process control system. Ensure project time and cost KPIs are met - monitor effectiveness of designs, scheduling of work, resource requirements and review compliance with project execution plan (schedule) and client expectations. Contribute to periodic reporting e.g., Project progress, resource requirements, Project budget versus cost, priorities, allocation of work, team needs. Ensure checking and review processes are completed. Review designs to ensure accuracy and compliance with codes, Australian / International Standards and Sedgman Standards. Comply with the Change Management process for engineering design. Estimating, budgeting and basic document control You will be flexible to travel to site as required Promote new initiatives for new architecture and technology of the industry About You: To be successful in this role, you will be self-motivated, well organised with the ability to manage multiple work fronts in a busy environment. You will be able to think out-of-the-box and be the driver to find innovative solutions to trivial problems. You will be flexible to travel to site as required. Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical, Mechatronics, Software or Computer) Minimum 10 years’ experience in design, consultancy, commissioning in engineering capacity in Coal, Metals, or Mineral Processing industry PLC (Rockwell, Schneider, Siemens) architecture design, configuration and programming SCADA (Citect SCADA, FactoryTalk View) configuration and programming Industrial networks architecture and IT/OT integration Functional safety life cycle for software design, validation and verification Proficient in MS Office suite Sedgman Pty Limited is a market leader in the design, construction and operation of mineral processing plants for the global resources sector.
