About the Opportunity Join our electrical engineering maintenance team in Henderson, WA, to provide essential engineering support that will ensure the safe, efficient operations and availability of the Collins Class Submarine fleet. This permanent, full-time role provides opportunity for a qualified electrical engineer to work on our maintenance based activities in Henderson, WA. Responsibilities Perform engineering tasks of a technically challenging nature which demonstrate knowledge of engineering fundamentals; Development of electrical documentation such as specifications, schematics, investigations, assessments, test procedures and engineering reports; Support the reliability of systems and conduct root cause analyses; Produce safety and technical risk assessments in accordance with the Defence Seaworthiness Management System; Undertaking Root Cause Analysis on reported urgent defects (URDEFs) and making recommendations to improve class wide reliability and availability. About you Bachelor of Electrical or Electronics Engineering or similar. Diplomas in relevant engineering fields will be considered for Technical Officer placements. Demonstrated analytical skills and technical knowledge in engineering. Ability to prepare well-structured and concise reports. Experience with working through integration issues with stakeholders to find acceptable solutions. Ability to build and maintain interpersonal and professional relationships with stakeholders, as well as the drive to motivate yourself and others, and embrace personal development. Integral to this role will be your ability to interact and communicate effectively with a diverse group of professionals, provide problem-solving solutions and have the confidence and professional demeanour to influence. Desirable competencies and experiences Experience with naval maintenance and/or operation of maritime systems. Knowledge and understanding of Defence Seaworthiness Management System (DSWMS) and its application to Engineering Delegations and Risk Levels. Knowledge of operating in Submarines or the Shipbuilding engineering environment. Experience in providing technical repair instructions and /or overseeing work conducted. Eligibility This role requires a current National Police Clearance and an Australian Defence Security Clearance.
