About the Role As a Principal Electrical Engineer, you’ll play a lead technical role across high-impact, multi-sector projects, working alongside a team of sharp, forward-thinking engineers. Key Responsibilities Lead and support a team of electrical engineers across full project lifecycles Oversee design, compliance and certification of advanced control systems and switchgear Collaborate with clients and internal stakeholders to solve complex engineering challenges Ensure all work meets safety, quality and regulatory requirements Provide technical input into tender processes, product development and delivery frameworks Identify and drive continuous improvement initiatives in engineering practice and output About You Degree-qualified in Electrical Engineering (mandatory) Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng/RPEQ) or working towards 10 years’ experience in electrical engineering—ideally with a background in mining or manufacturing Experience mentoring engineering teams or leading technical project delivery Strong commercial awareness and ability to manage budgets, schedules and compliance Excellent communicator with stakeholder management and client-facing experience Why Newcastle?
