The Role We are seeking an enthusiastic Legal Assistant to join our Litigation and Dispute Resolution team. This role will work alongside two other legal assistants. As a group, we work hard, share plenty of laughs, and genuinely enjoy collaborating together. The team is supportive, approachable, and always willing to help each other out. In this role, you will primarily provide support to one of the team’s six partners, as well as assisting members of the broader practice group. Whilst each day will vary, your key duties will include: Providing general day to day secretarial support for your team of lawyers including phone calls, diary management and travel arrangements; Matter file opening and general matter management; Trust account receipting, invoice processing and billing for your team of lawyers; Creating and amending documents including letters and court documents using a precedent bank; Assisting with the amending and collation of court documents; Assisting with electronic discovery, and evidence collation; Collating briefs, court books and evidence books in both electronic and physical formats; Preparing court documents for physical and electronic filing (Federal and State courts and tribunals). Experience The successful candidate will need: Two to five years of experience working in a litigation team; Meticulous attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and quality in all work; Exceptional time management skills to prioritise tasks and manage competing deadlines efficiently; Strong communication skills, enabling you to engage effectively with your fellow staff and external stakeholders; A proactive mindset with the ability to take initiative; A collaborative approach, fostering strong relationships with team members and other legal assistants across the firm; Self-motivation, with the capacity to work independently and collaboratively within a team; Benefits At McCullough Robertson, we encourage a balanced work environment.
