The Role As part of the Engineering & Construction division, you will play a pivotal role in the design and delivery of major water and wastewater treatment projects across the country. Reporting to the Head of Engineering Platforms, you will oversee end-to-end process engineering and multidisciplinary coordination, ensuring designs are technically sound, cost-efficient, and aligned with safety and environmental standards. This is more than a technical role - its a leadership opportunity. You will guide junior engineers, contribute to commissioning, and act as a key link between design, delivery, and client engagement. With several projects already in the pipeline, this position will be central to scaling up delivery capacity and refining internal engineering standards. Responsibilities Lead design development and process engineering for major water/wastewater projects Prepare and review process flows (PFIDs and P&IDs), hydraulic design, and plant functionality Ensure compliance with Australian and SUEZ-specific technical and safety standards Identify design risks, propose value-engineered solutions, and support budget adherence Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams and interface with clients throughout project lifecycle Support commissioning and provide technical assurance during delivery phase Mentor junior engineers and contribute to capability building across the team Requirements Degree-qualified in Chemical Engineering or related field 10 years' experience in water/wastewater treatment plant design and process engineering Expertise in PFIDs, P&IDs, hydraulic calculations, and risk-based design Strong knowledge of design and project management software Excellent communication and stakeholder coordination skills Chartered status (CPEng) or working towards it Willingness to travel for site visits and project reviews On Offer Opportunity to work on nationally significant water infrastructure Join a global environmental leader with strong growth in ANZ Flexible hybrid working from Rhodes corporate HQ Career development with pathways to leadership and technical expert roles Inclusive team culture with wellbeing and innovation at the core If you're passionate about water, design, and engineering excellence, apply now or contact [email protected] for more information.
