The role The Project Engineer provides engineering and project management expertise on the design, construction and commissioning of water and sewerage hydraulic services for minor capital works projects. While no two days in this role will look the same, some day-to-day activities might include the following: Prepare scope of works, request for quote and project specifications to ensure projects are delivered in accordance with design briefs, project specifications, budgets and programs Liaise effectively with external and internal stakeholders in the delivery of minor capital works Carry out any inspection and test activities for projects undertaken and maintain associated records Manage tender processes in line with South East Water policy and procedures Manage the commercial contracts in place to ensure the highest levels of performance are achieved This is a site- and office-based role with projects located across the entire catchment area of South East Water. Who are you? The preferred candidate will have tertiary qualifications in Civil or Mechanical Engineering (or other relevant discipline), as well as the following skills and attributes: Knowledge of the civil, mechanical, electrical and/or process components of multi-disciplinary works such as water and wastewater pumping stations, Pressure Reducing Station or treatment plants Ability to prepare project justification reports, scope of work documents and project specifications Understanding of commercial contracts with the ability to manage, formulate and track budget Understanding of environmental issues relating to the design and construction of water utility assets Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills, including written, verbal and presentation, to explain technical details and report to a variety of customers, contractors and stakeholder What's in it for you?
