The Role As Traffic Engineer, you’ll be responsible but not limited to: Providing advice on engineering aspects of residential/ commercial developments relating to vehicular access and parking and associated public domain works Work in close cooperation with other stakeholders to build a robust approach to safety management Liase with internal and external customers like TfNSW and residents to coordinate responses to traffic and parking matter Contribute to delivery of transport initiatives Conduct investigations on traffic and transport issues including road safety concerns and community raised requests and providing sustainable solutions Develop traffic signage plans, including procuring and/or printing signs directly. The successful candidate will demonstrate the following key skills and attributes: Degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related discipline. Experience in general civil design. Demonstrated knowledge of NSW Road Rules and experience in investigating and providing advice on traffic, transport, parking, and road safety matters. Knowledge of traffic and parking guidelines, TfNSW Technical Directions, Standards and legislative requirements. Competent in the use of computer packages including Microsoft Office Suite and records keeping management packages such as TRIM. Excellent written, oral, report writing and presentation skills. Ability to listen, reason, negotiate effectively and resolve technical problems. Good people skills and presentation. A positive, professional and co-operative approach to working with others.
