Gordon Brothers has joined the JCI family and as we continue to innovate and grow, we are looking for a Mechanical Design Drafter (Industrial Refrigeration) to join our team. This role will be based in our Rydalmere office. The Mechanical Drafter will support the engineering team by creating detailed 2D and 3D mechanical drawings and models for various projects. The role may involve other engineering and drafting aspects e.g. civil, structural and electrical areas as the nature of specific projects vary. This role involves translating conceptual designs into precise drawings, ensuring adherence to company and industry standards. About the role: Utilize CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks) to create and modify designs. Develop detailed mechanical drawings from sketches, specifications, and other data. Develop detailed 2D schematic, P&ID and PFD drawings. Develop pipe spool drawings and bills of materials. Collaborate with engineers and other team members to resolve design issues and optimize outcomes. Ensure all drawings are accurate, complete, and maintain proper documentation and revision control. Assist in the preparation of bills of materials and other engineering documentation as required. Provide support during the manufacturing and assembly processes, addressing any drawing-related issues. Support the sales team in preparing overview drawings (e.g. Site layouts, concept models and general arrangements) during quotation and tender processes About you: Proficiency in using CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar). Strong understanding of mechanical design principles and drafting standards. Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
