Associate Architect – Front-End Design Focus Location: Sydney | Salary: Up to $130k Super | Full-Time Kappa Executive Search is recruiting on behalf of a Sydney CBD-based studio for an Associate Architect with a strong focus on early-stage design, feasibility, and planning. This senior role offers the opportunity to shape and lead front-end project phases across significant mixed-use, multi-residential, hotel, commercial, and public projects. The ideal candidate will be confident running complex projects from feasibility through to design development, with a strong grasp of NSW planning frameworks, SEPP, ADG, and local authority engagement. Key Responsibilities: Lead feasibility studies, planning assessments, and early project strategy Drive massing, urban design responses and planning compliance Prepare and coordinate Planning Proposals, SSDAs and DAs Engage directly with clients, consultants, authorities, and design panels Oversee early-stage Revit documentation and guide transition to later phases Support and mentor team members in design execution Requirements: Registered Architect (NSW) preferred Demonstrated experience in front-end design leadership Strong knowledge of SEPP, ADG, NSW planning controls Proven experience delivering multi-residential or mixed-use projects Proficient in Revit for concept and early-stage documentation Confident communicator with ability to lead planning and stakeholder processes Australian citizenship or permanent residency required The Studio: Join a design-led, collaborative practice known for its rigour and creativity in shaping meaningful built outcomes.
