A high-profile Federal Government department is looking to engage an experienced Service Design Director (Service Design Lead) to guide strategic service transformation initiatives and lead a multi-disciplinary team delivering participant-focused outcomes. The successful Service Design Lead will be offered an initial 12-month contract with 1 x 12-month extension and enjoy a rewarding hourly rate in a flexible hybrid working environment. The successful Service Design Director (Service Design Lead) will be responsible for, but not limited to: Leading end-to-end service design initiatives across complex, high-impact programs. Driving research using observational studies, interviews, prototyping, and analysis to understand current state and user needs. Facilitating design-thinking sessions and co-creating future-state experiences and service blueprints. Providing strategic direction and creative leadership across cross-functional teams. Ensuring services are viable, feasible, and centred on participant and staff experience. Coaching, mentoring and guiding design squads to produce high-quality deliverables. The successful Service Design Director (Service Design Lead) will have experience in the following: Demonstrated senior leadership experience in public sector or large-scale organisations. Deep expertise in human-centred design and leading sensitive, large-scale service design programs. Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills in complex environments. Familiarity with Agile or Kanban methodologies (highly regarded). Previous experience in disability, social services, or government (desirable).
