In the Data Analytics team, reporting to the Principal Engineer, you'll deliver trusted, secure data and visualizations through our advanced data platform. Integrate streaming and batch-based sources to offer clean, governed datasets for informed decision-making across the organization. Your expertise in data pipelines and data lake/warehouse models will be key to creating robust, high-quality data products. With honesty, integrity and respect, you will: Monitor security, performance, and availability of applications, triage incidents quickly, and prioritise based on impact and urgency. Adhere to security, compliance, and engineering standards while implementing engineering solutions, and provide documentation to guide development teams. Develop software solutions following Shell guidelines, including firewalls, antivirus software, and access controls, and maintain security training requirements. Provide meaningful estimates, ensure timely and successful completion of tasks, and escalate risks promptly. Assist with technical issues, respond to support requests, and ensure smooth adoption of new technologies. What you’ll bring Expertise in developing and supporting enterprise data warehousing models. Strong SQL skills Experience in version control systems (e.g., Git), and CI/CD practices. Experience in Agile Software Development, including defining user stories, estimating work effort, and managing stakeholder expectations. Proficiency in using cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud), understanding cloud services, deployment models, and best practices. Proficiency in programming languages like Python and Typescript for automation and software development tasks. Knowledge of cybersecurity principles, best practices, and technologies, including encryption, access control, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and incident response procedures.
