Your New Team & Role This role, reporting to the Revesby Plant Manager, forms part of our high-performing manufacturing team. You will provide engineering and technical expertise to ensure the chemical materials, processes and finished products meet company, client and regulatory requirements in the most safe and cost effective manner for the Revesby manufacturing plant. You will utilise your expertise by analysing existing production processes and develop recommendations for changes to working methods that will minimise risk, cost and wastage; increase productivity; lead key projects; and improve the quality and consistency of final conveyor belting products. Responsibilities Monitor, analyse and evaluate existing production process and develop recommendations for changes to working methods or operation sequence. Analyse product failure data and laboratory test results to determine causes of problems and develop solutions. Conduct or supervise tests on raw materials or finished products to ensure their quality. Plan and implement laboratory operations for the purpose of developing material and fabrication procedures that meet cost, product specification, and performance standards. Plan and evaluate new projects, consulting with other engineers and managers as necessary. Analyse more complex product specifications, parts, drawings and other engineering data to develop improvements to production processes. Prepare estimate and costing for modifying, configuring and installing plant and equipment. Provide engineering and technical support to maintenance and production personnel. Maintain and complete regular reporting. Evaluate and recommend investment in equipment, systems or other assets that will improve the organisations production capabilities. Identify future capital works projects and provide recommendations for actions relating to the projects. Approve third party documentation, such as supplier drawings, to ensure that the detail design is accurate. Establish a process for and manage all relevant documentation for engineering change management processes. Oversee and manage document control/management process including authorisation, storage archiving, retrieving and review of QA/QC related documents and records. Plan, develop and undertake quality audits and analyses activities to ensure compliance with established internal controls, quality assurance systems, legislation, policies and procedures to meet ISO and Australia Standards requirements. Prepare and maintain schedules and budgets for projects/work allocated. About you We are looking for a team player who is self-driven, confident and passionate and possesses the following skills and experience: Tertiary degree level qualifications in Chemical Engineering Competent knowledge of the chemical composition, structure, and properties of substances and the chemical processes and transformations that they undergo Specialist knowledge of engineering principles and procedures Competent knowledge design codes and industry standards Competent knowledge of Quality Control and Quality assurance systems, techniques, processes Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods Entry level knowledge of, process improvement techniques and tools such as Six Sigma, LEAN or KAIZEN Intermediate / competent level knowledge of conveyor belting, systems, mining conveyor plant and equipment (desired not essential) Strong ability to initiate, build and maintain strong and effective relationships and partnerships with all levels of stakeholders What’s in it for you?
