About the Role As a Disability Support Worker, you’ll work in a range of settings including community programs, in-home care, and overnight respite (sleepovers). Key responsibilities include: · Supporting people with community access, social engagement, and daily routines. · Providing in-home support such as personal care, meal preparation, household tasks, and companionship. · Assisting with overnight respite care, including active or sleepover shifts, maintaining a safe and supportive environment throughout the night. · Managing mobility needs, medication administration, and transport assistance. · Responding to behaviours of concern with empathy and professionalism. · Accurately completing documentation using basic computer systems. Who We’re Looking For We’re seeking individuals who are: · Available and dependable – Regular availability for weekdays, weekends, evenings, and overnight (sleepover) shifts is essential. · Looking for long-term casual work – This role is best suited to those who want to grow and stay within the disability support sector. · Flexible and proactive – Willing to travel between sites or support people in their homes across different suburbs. · Empathetic and adaptable – Able to respond calmly and confidently in various support scenarios. · Team-oriented – Committed to working respectfully and collaboratively with others.
