6 weeks of annual leave Hybrid working model Subsidised private health insurance and discounts on our products and services Senior Legal Counsel We are seeking a highly experienced and commercially astute Senior Legal Counsel to join our in-house Legal Team. This is a key strategic and advisory role reporting to the General Counsel & Company Secretary. You will play a pivotal role in providing high-quality legal advice across a broad range of matters affecting our organisation, including commercial contracts, privacy, corporate governance, litigation, regulatory compliance, ESG, and risk. As a not-for-profit health fund, we exist for our members covering the lives of over 400,000 teachers, education staff & their families. What will you do? / How will you help? Provide legal advice on a broad range of matters including governance, privacy, contracts, and compliance Draft and negotiate commercial agreements aligned with our strategic objectives Manage litigation, subpoenas, and legal risks while coordinating external legal providers Support our merger, acquisitions, and transformation projects Champion our privacy and ESG compliance responsibilities Mentor and support fellow legal team members What do you need? / What are we looking for? A law degree and a current unrestricted Australian practising certificate Minimum 8 years’ post-admission experience, ideally within an APRA-regulated or similarly complex environment Strong background in contract law, corporate governance, and regulatory compliance Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage with executive stakeholders and regulators Demonstrated ability to work both strategically and hands-on in a fast-paced environment Experience with private health insurance, ESG, or charitable trust governance is highly desirable How do I apply?
