The Role The purpose of this role is to assist in the design and delivery of Council’s capital works projects, making sure they are efficient and effective in terms of sustainability, cost, time, quality, and risk. This involves improving safety, quality of life, and environmental standards in Waverley by creating affordable designs that meet laws and engineering standards. About You Tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering or associated discipline. Extensive knowledge of the principles of design and construction of civil and drainage works. this should include sound knowledge of legislative, statutory, state and local government Requirements, particularly around traffic facilities and stormwater design. Strong skills in computer applications including Microsoft Word, Excel and Project, as well as computer Aided Design software (AutoCAD, 12D). Demonstrated strong level of communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills. A strong commitment to delivering quality customer service (internal and external). Practical experience and knowledge of surveying including the use of a Total Station. The ability to work independently and complete projects without supervision. A positive, professional and co-operative approach to working with others. Current NSW Drivers licence. An understanding and commitment to EEO.
