The Opportunity Reporting to the Assistant General Counsel, you will be responsible for providing legal advice and support to the Asia Pacific business on a wide range of matters including contracts, competition law, EH&S, employment, intellectual property, privacy and legal compliance in general. As a member of the global legal and compliance department (LCD), you will also be required to provide legal support to our global business, with opportunity to use your skills and knowledge to participate in global LCD projects. The position may involve some travel within Australia and occasional travel to the US and/or Europe to meet with other members of the LCD and the broader business. What you’ll do Work with the LCD Practice Area Leads for Commercial, Litigation, Employment, IP and Compliance to provide timely and commercial legal advice to the business as required Assist in ensuring contracts are reviewed and managed in accordance with the Company’s Contract Review Policy including supporting and encouraging the business to use self-service tools and templates where appropriate Work with other LCD members on LCD improvement projects aimed at the continuous improvement of the service offered by the LCD to the business Assist in reviewing and advising the business on all forms of information and documents to be published by the Company to external parties including marketing materials, informational materials, warranties and product and technical literature What you’ll bring Degree-level qualification in law (ideally be admitted to practice law in Australia or New Zealand) 2-4 years post qualification experience Excellent written and verbal communication skills Highly professional, self-motivated, accurate, detailed, independent and flexible Initiative and the ability to work independently and as part of a team Have an interest in and have, or be capable of acquiring, knowledge/understanding of manufacturing, supply chain and building processes involving the Company’s products The ability to recognise and understand business risks and support the risk management process Working @ James Hardie Stable growth at a global building products manufacturer Bonus scheme for all eligible employees Product discounts Paid parental leave of 16 weeks for the primary carer (including super) & two weeks for secondary carer 2 Volunteer days per year Plenty of employee rewards and benefits including a rewards and recognition program Online shopping discounts International & domestic development and progression opportunities Access to thousands of free self-development modules via James Hardie University Employee Assistance Program access for you & your immediate family members Proudly providing Australian Made fibre cement to the market for over 100 years.
