About the Role: We are currently seeking an experienced MC Driver (Float & Platform) for an urgent commencement for a short term project. In this role you'll be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of large freight using a well-maintained Volvo FH16 (2024) Truck, with a Drake 6x8 Steerable low-loader platform trailer, with a 2x8 extension. The project will depart from Canning Vale, driving the truck & trailer (empty) to Newman, to collect our 220t Grove crane to transport to mine site out of Port Hedland. From there it will assisting in the demobilisation of site equipment from the mine site to a storage yard outside Port Hedland. And at the completion of the project driving the truck & trailer back to Canning Vale. This role requires a driver with strong previous experience in float and platform operations , (preferrable Drake) demonstrating expertise in loading, unloading, and securing various types of freight. Key Responsibilities: Safely and efficiently operate an MC licensed Volvo truck and Drake platform trailer. Transport freight from Perth to Newman, and then from Newman to Port Hedland. Conduct short-distance freight movements within the Port Hedland area. Demonstrate proficiency in loading, unloading, and securing large and varied freight on a platform trailer. Possess practical experience with float operations for loading and unloading machinery or oversized items. Complete pre-start checks and report any vehicle maintenance issues promptly. Adhere to all relevant traffic laws and company policies. Maintain accurate logbooks and paperwork. Essential Requirements: Current and valid Australian MC driver's license. Demonstrable experience operating platform trailers and securing various types of freight. Proven experience with float operations (loading/unloading). Current Drivers Medical Current Fatigue Management Certificate A strong commitment to safety and compliance. Ability to work independently and manage time effectively. Reliable and punctual.
