ROLE As the Head of Sales and Business Development , you’ll play a role in leading a dynamic team and driving growth for a leader in the personal care industry. You’ll manage a talented team, guide business development efforts, and oversee new product development projects that shape the future of the industry. This is a rare opportunity to make a direct impact on the business’s success, with a generous compensation package including base salary, car allowance (with lease option), superannuation, e-tag, and annual bonuses. Reporting to the Managing Director (MD), the key duties and responsibilities will include but are not limited to: Leading a team of three Business Managers and one Product Development Coordinator. Collaborating with the MD to prepare annual budgets and sales targets, while managing the allocation of sales activities across the Sales Department. Overseeing customer-focused New Product Development (NPD) projects, attending job briefs, and negotiating business terms. Ensuring the Sales Department consistently meets and exceeds set sales targets. Maintaining or improving profit margins to fuel sustained business growth. Driving business development and establishing relationships with potential customers. Partnering with Sales Managers to review and negotiate business terms, ensuring both growth and satisfaction for customers. Providing timely, accurate briefs for internal teams, including Research & Development, Regulatory, and Quality Assurance. Collaborating with the Finance Department to ensure timely costings aligned with customer needs. Mentoring and developing direct reports, conducting performance reviews, and expanding the team as needed. REQUIREMENTS A degree in science or a relevant field, with proven experience in the contract manufacturing industry, in a sales or business development role within the personal care or pharmaceutical sectors. Strong experience in sales and business management, including annual budgeting and financial reporting for the commercial department. Demonstrated success in managing people in sales or NPD functions. A proven track record of driving significant sales growth and successfully identifying new business opportunities. Extensive experience in managing and nurturing client relationships from initial engagement through to long-term partnerships. Ability to consistently meet and exceed sales targets, while managing the performance of direct reports to achieve business objectives.
