About the Role We are currently seeking applications for Locomotive Driver Assistants within our Cane Supply teams in the Burdekin Region (Pioneer, Inkerman, Kalamia, and Invicta Mills) . These are entry level positions and involve continuous shift work during the crushing season and opportunities for overtime on penalty rates. The Loco Assistant is a member of a small rail team, working with the Loco Driver on our rail network delivering bins to sidings, returning full bins of cane to the mill for processing, and stepping in and out of the Loco moving point lines & counting bins. Role Requirements A Manual 'C' class driver's licence is required, and these positions are a pathway to becoming a Loco Driver. You will need to possess good communication skills to provide regular/accurate feedback, be a team player who knows the importance of teamwork and be a high energy person who loves being outdoors.
